Characteristics
Carpet beetles have an array of coloring and markings most specifically brown, white, and orange stripes. They are oval in shape and rather tiny at only 1/16 of an inch. They prey on any fabric such as silk, satin, and of course, your carpet. A great way to prevent these pesky little guys is by maintaining a neat and orderly home. Vacuum your carpets regularly, and store away any textiles that are not in use.
